TEACHERS GEAR UP FOR WATER EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS




PAWD President and Santa Maria Water District (SMWD) General Manager Carlos N. Santos, Jr. discussed the roles of schools, teachers, and students in Sustainable Water Resource Management during the TOT on Use of Water Education Modules for K-12 held on 4 March 2020 at the Davao City Water District Conference Hall in Davao City, Philippines.

The training course was designed to raise awareness on the importance of water education among teachers, water districts and other stakeholders in the water sector.

The modules are contained in the Teaching-Learning Resource Package on “Water: Nature’s Precious Gift” developed by the Maynilad Water Academy (MWA) in cooperation with the University of the Philippines (UP) National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development, Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Mathematics Education and Research, Inc. and Philippines National Commission for United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
